Vanguard Affection Twist Carpet

Vanguard Affection Twist Carpet with a 1,350g/m2 pile weight

With a pile weight of 1,350g/m2, Vanguard Affection Twist Carpet offers a substantial carpet surface for busy domestic rooms where comfort and everyday practicality both matter. Its twist-pile saxony construction gives the floor a softer feel underfoot, making it a considered option for bedrooms, lounges and other living areas that see regular use.

Made from 100% polypropylene, this carpet is designed with stain-resistant properties in mind. That makes the fibre choice relevant for households where ordinary spills and marks are part of daily life, although prompt care remains important. The LC5 luxury classification also gives you a specific reference when comparing carpets by their stated luxury category.

The colour selection ranges from understated shades such as Dove and Latte to deeper options including Shadow and Slate. Vanguard Affection Twist Carpet is aimed primarily at homeowners updating their flooring, with residential fitters and refurbishment professionals also able to assess it for suitable projects. It brings a soft finish to the room, with practical limits worth understanding before you buy.

What the carpet’s measurements tell you

The pile height is 10mm, giving you a useful indication of the depth of the carpet surface beneath your feet. Its total thickness is 12mm, which should be considered when planning the transition to adjoining flooring and checking clearances around doors.

The pile weight of 1,350g/m2 describes the weight of the pile fibres across a square metre, while the total weight of 2,150g/m2 includes more of the carpet’s construction. These figures help you compare product specifications, but they should not be treated as a guarantee of lifespan or resistance to every type of wear.

The carpet has a 1/10-inch gauge, describing the spacing of the tufting rows in its construction. This is a technical comparison point rather than a measure of softness on its own. Look at the specifications together with the intended room and the feel you want from the finished floor.

Matching Vanguard Affection Twist Carpet to the room

The stated performance classification is 23, for heavy domestic use. This makes the carpet a candidate for rooms with regular household traffic, provided its pile style and care requirements suit the way the space is used. It can be considered for bedrooms and living rooms where a carpeted finish is preferred.

Its residential positioning is important. The supplied information does not establish a commercial performance classification, so do not assume it is suitable for offices, retail premises or other settings with different traffic and maintenance demands. For rental properties or refurbishment work, compare the expected use with the product details before specifying it.

Polypropylene’s stain-resistant properties are useful, but they do not make the carpet stain-proof. If the room is exposed to frequent spills, abrasive dirt or demanding cleaning routines, consider those conditions carefully and check the manufacturer’s care guidance before deciding.

Maintaining the pile and its appearance

Regular vacuuming helps remove everyday dirt before it becomes worked into the pile. Deal with spills promptly, using the cleaning approach recommended for the carpet rather than assuming that every household cleaner is suitable. A stain-resistant fibre still needs appropriate treatment.

Foot traffic and furniture can affect how a carpet looks over time. The product is described as durable for busy homes, but no quantified lifespan or specific wear-test result is supplied. Set expectations around the actual room, the level of use and the maintenance you can reasonably provide.

Colour is another part of long-term satisfaction. Dove, Dusky Grey, Oatmeal and Tawny offer different directions for a room scheme, but online images may not reproduce the exact shade under your lighting. Check the available colour information carefully before confirming your choice.

Measuring carpet rolls and planning the order

Vanguard Affection Twist Carpet is available in widths of 4 metres and 5 metres, with a stated roll length of 25 metres. The available width can affect how the carpet is laid out, how joins are planned and how much material is needed for a particular room. Measure the room’s length and width, including recesses and awkward corners, before calculating the order.

Do not rely on floor area alone. The direction of the pile, doorway positions and the fitter’s cutting plan can affect the quantity required and the amount of offcut material. Ask your carpet fitter to confirm the measurements and allow for suitable cutting waste before purchasing. The secondary backing is part of the carpet’s construction, so confirm any separate underlay requirement with the fitter rather than assuming one is always needed.

Review the selected colour and roll width together before ordering online. If the project covers several rooms, plan the quantities and fitting sequence in advance so the order matches the installation requirements.

Choose Vanguard Affection Twist Carpet for your home

This carpet is suited to homeowners looking for a soft twist-pile finish, stain-resistant polypropylene and a stated heavy domestic classification. Its colour options give you room to coordinate the floor with your chosen interior scheme.

Choose your preferred shade and available width, then confirm the required quantity before placing your online order. If you are unsure about measurements or room suitability, consult a carpet fitter before buying.
